Victory was a bittersweet thing.
On one hand, she was free. After so many years of servitude and enslavement, Robin Le Fae was finally able to spread her wings and fly. The world was her playground. She could go anywhere, do anything. And yet, there she was, in a rundown village, hidden away from prying eyes inside an abandoned house. She dared not go outdoors during daylight hours, nor would she chance being seen through any of the un-boarded windows. Her paranoia of being discovered for what she was and dragged off to another slave market was keeping her every nerve on end, every muscle tense. She was among her own kind now, which was an improvement, but in a lawless place such as this there was no telling how many of the inhabitants would be willing to sell her out. It was be best for her to continue to lay low until she’d gathered enough provisions to make the journey to Lion’s Sted.
Being a prophet was no easy feat.
”Day six and still no considerable progress made.” she mumbled under her breath. She lay stretched out on her stomach on the floor, a slender leg bobbing to a tuneless beat. This was how she spent the majority of her day, aside from the occasional nap or meager meal. To say the free life was treating her kindly would be a lie. She was constantly hungry, but dared not indulge too much on the food she’d managed to scrounge up—she needed to save up for her final trip. She’d managed to stay clean, which, to a young woman such as herself, was a blessing. There was a pond not far from her temporary home, and she’d taken to frequenting it every other night to wash her body and clothes. But what she wouldn’t give for a real bath…
Letting out a sigh, she rolled over onto her back, limbs stretched wide, cinnamon eyes staring up at the hole in the ceiling. A flock of song birds were fluttering around in the sky, chirping about their day and the going-ons of bird life. ’What I wouldn’t give to be one of them…’ she thought as she stretched an arm out towards the open air, the chains and coins of her slave attire clinking and chiming as she moved. ’So close and yet so far…’
She truly hoped that Lion’s Sted lived up to its reputation. Robin wasn’t too sure how much more let down she could take.

| Who had come up with the bright fucking idea that he should be the one to head out in search of this "human prophet"? Oh, that's right! His crazy ass mother had been the one. And what had the fruits of his labor got him? A nasty ass gash across his left pec and collarbone from a youngling werewolf who thought they were hot shit. Okay, they hadn't been that hard to take down; no, his lovely wound was from the Elder wolf that had come upon him. Sure he had been trespassing, and the fact that he had his fangs sunk into the tender flesh of the young wolfs neck; his muzzle cakes in warm, sticky blood.
It had been worth it. Lucius thought as he leaned back against a dead tree with a rather nasty hiss escaping him. He'd had worse wounds in his lifetime, but he could feel there was something off about this wound. Lifting his right hand, he shifted his armor aside so he could get a better look at the large wound. The skin around it was raised and stained with the thick blood that continued to seep from it. A frown came to his face as he ran a finger through the blood seeping from the wound. Bringing his hand up to his mouth, he gave a few quick clicks of his tongue to bring the coppery liquid across his sensitive taste buds. His eyes widened as be felt his blood begin to boil in anger. That fucking mutt bastard. Poison! That old shit had fucking poisoned him! Letting loose a low groan the were slowly lifted himself off the tree. It wasn't like he'd die from the poison; no, the thing that he was worried about was passing it in the middle of the goddamn human village.
He needed to find somewhere safe, deserted, preferably a place no one would wander across. "Are you alright Mister?" Who? Turning his head to the right, ignoring the head rush it caused. "Mister?" Oh, there it was. The source of the tiny voice was standing a few feet away from him. It was a child. A little girl to be exact. She had long, golden blonde hair, and the largest doe brown eyes he had ever seen someone to have. She was dressed on a soft powder blue dress, with white stockings, and a pair of spotless black dress shoes. Her frail fingers were clutched around the handle of an old wicker basket filled to the brim with fruits. She was staring directly at him; or well, the heavy steams of blood spilling out from under his armor. Well fuck. This is totally what he needed right now.
Lifting a hand he waved her away. He did not need some snot nosed brat bothering him; or running off to tell mommy and daddy he was there. Go away wee lass." He said loud enough for her to hear.
"Mister." She said softly taking a few steps towards him. This is why he didn't like kids. They never listened to anything you tell them to do. "Mister, if you're hurt I know someone who might be able to help."
He couldn't help but roll his eyes at that, he didn't need help from some human. What he needed was a nice lonely place to pass out in. If there was one thing he couldn't risk it was passing out and shifting in a place where someone could find and kill him. "I'm fine, get lo--" The soft jingling of the rib bones he had tied to his pants stopped him mid sentence. Turning his gaze down he saw the little girl. How had he not heard her?! But somehow she had walked the short distance between them to pull on the leg of his pants.
"You're bleeding." She said in a more stern determined tone than what she had been speaking in earlier. "I'll get you some help." Still that determined tone, and for some strange reason he was actually getting the feeling of obeying her. So when her tiny fingers clutched at his palm, he took the offered hand in a loose grip to be lead through the deserted streets to a ramshackle hut that was sitting off by itself. Still clutching Lucius' hand she gently placed the fruit basket on the ground to rap at the wooden door three times before calling out "Miss Robin? It's Anya. I've brought fruit..." she trailed off to take a glance at Lucius. "And, someone who's hurt." The last bit was whispered; almost as if she was telling a secret.
His head was pounding. Not a normal headache pounding, no this pounding was laced with a searing pain. Like someone was poking at his brain with a hot branding iron. The fact that his vision was getting fuzzy around the edges. He didn't need to be here, around people; humans. The woods is where he needed to be. Why couldn't he move? How was this little girls hand in his keeping him anchored in place?
"Don't worry cat. She will be able to help you." With wide eyes Lucius stated down at the small girl who was giving him an innocent smile. Had she just spoke? No, that had been in his head hasn't it? This poison must have been really taking a number out on him. | Words: ##
